For quality fishing now and the future
The Missouri River Flyfishers is a voluntary organization that has, as its philosophy, the promotion of fly fishing and the protection of cold water habitat through stream enhancement and restoration projects. Besides this philosophy, the organization has six stated purposes:
  1. To promote the cooperation between landowners, fishermen, and state agencies to maintain the in-stream flow of the Missouri drainage
  2. To promote positive landowner/fisher relationships
  3. To educate the non-flyfishing public to a catch-and-release philosophy.
  4. To promote flyfishing as the most environmentally sound way to enjoy our sport fishery.
  5. To promote, uphold, and work for the objectives of the Federation of Fly Fishers.
  6. To promote, support, and work for the objectives of Trout Unlimited.
Since its inception in the spring of 1981, the Missouri River Flyfishers has worked hard to fulfill this philosophy. We have provided free fly-casting and fly-tying clinics for the general public.
Through our major fund-raiser, our Annual Art Auction and Banquet, we have donated thousands of dollars to other non-profit organizations dedicated to preserving stream habitat, such as the Montana Land Reliance.

Present and future projects include:
  • We support the Montana Land Reliance, Trout Unlimited, and Federation of Fly Fishers.
  • Will continue to be involved in Fish, Wildlife & Park's National Fishing Week and Fly Tying Clinic each year. Will give financial support for fishing etiquette signs and install them along the Missouri River.
  • We will to continue supporting various stream bank reclamation projects on the Missouri River and tributary streams.
  • Will continue to manage the Gary Jarzczeski Memorial fund established for conservation and education projects.
  • Will continue to provide high quality and interesting speakers at our monthly club meetings, which are open to the public.

Our annual membership dues are $25, but $20 for senior fishers over 65 years of age, and $10 for juniors. You will receive the MRF River Reporter, an informational monthly newsletter.
Your dues also give you access to all club sponsored programs, clinics, and valuable door prizes at all of our eight general meetings each year. Members may participate in the exciting Annual Art Auction & Banquet.
Become part of an important conservation organization and learn the joys of fly fishing.
